Paddy's Knob.....

Postby ofuros » Thu 31 Dec, 2015 8:48 am

Main Range N.P.
Anyone been out to Paddy's Knob remote campsite with expansive views of Condamine Gorge ?

Nothing found using the forum search button & very few hits on google woogle.
Supposed to be accessed east of Mount Colliery township via Gambubal Road....there's a myriad of tracks out
there, just trying to narrow it down.

Pm me if it's sensitive info....

Happy New Year !

I haven't walked around there but 10 years ago it was in the news due to the infamous actions of one Vincent Thomas Boyle, who was responsible for the clearing of large parts of the national park near Paddys Knob to benefit himself. Bushwalkers were first to blow the whistle.
This description of events with aerial images makes interesting reading: http://envlaw.com.au/r-v-boyle/
Most land surrounding the park has a 'M' prefix to the plan number, which apparently indicates Crown land (ref. https://www.confirm.citec.com.au/weblogic/jsp/help/title_plan_document%20descriptions_faq.html)
