Conondale Range Great Walk

Postby hakea » Tue 28 Jun, 2016 4:10 pm

I am looking at doing the Conondale range great walk but on the main webpage it mentions only high clearance 4wd. I understand that condition are largely based on rainfall at the time so i will be looking at that in advance but i was wondering if my 2015 model subaru forester would be okay getting over the creeks?

What you might find is that since the last significant rain event (last weekend) that the crossings are very washed out and rough. Not sure who you could contact to find out about their status.

Just got back from there. Road in is in great shape. You'll have no trouble in any car. If it rains a lot while you're there (unlikely) they ask campers in low clearance vehicles to leave in case the creeks fill up but as of 3 days ago, there was only 2 inches of water at one easy crossing.
