Anyone traversed the Mt Bell ridge all the way to Mt Bangalore.
Just curious to know if the steep section to the saddle is do-able.
Looks a bit hairy from 'The Head' road. :o

I'll take the internet silence as a nay then... another exploratory trip added to the walking list. ;)

It was possible when I did it 17 years ago. Scary and steep.

I have not done this route but can vouch for the "fear factor," based on the view of this ridge from the top of Mt Bangalore...

Would be great to hear a trip report/see photos if a traverse eventuates.

Some shots of the area below, for those who are curious

It was a little hairy but do-able....grassy & steep before the dropoff, definitely in the dry only. Rocks in the steep section are very crumbly & give way easily, be careful.
The very tip before the down climb has great views of Bangalore & its gorges.

Overgrown with high grasses along the ridge itself, no remnants of a pad, with teasing views of the Main Range through the canopy.
Glad I did it, but wouldn't do it again because of the lack of views. Better off climbing up from the saddle as far as you dare, taking some pics before continuing on to complete the Bangalore summit or circuit.

Some great evening & morning views from the sparse rocky areas just below the Mt Bangalore summit though.
Water is scarce so take enough.

Looking down the downclimb & over to Mt Bangalores southern gorges...don't be fooled, its steeper than it looks.
There are views down to the gorge on the northern side too.
