Jambal - Herbert River Gorge walk recent experience

Has anyone walked the Herbert River Gorge recently? We'll be walking down from Blencoe early August and I would love to hear about your experience.

I've heard parts are a bit hard going now that there is less cattle keeping the banks open from Lantana. I also understand that all that lovely water is not for swimming, too many snappy longtoms.

2014 was when I did it. Also first two days we did different route to national park route, we started from junction of Blencoe Creek and Herbert River. We saw large snappy long toms too !! River crossings were a worry .

Have a great walk Thijs...hoping to do this too, maybe late Sept, before the rains return towards the end of the year.
A couple of pics & a brief trip report would be nice...pretty please.
No swimming because of the long lounging lizards but you can fish...there'll be a hand line in my pack.

Bauplenut...i was checking out that option on the maps too.
