Vandalism in Mt Barney

The gate that gives access to the Lower Portals has been removed using sheer force:

Note: Let's hope QLD National Parks puts a new one and a warning sign to stop people from behaving like idiots.

Is that the little pedestrian gate? If so, what was the point? I could understand (though not condone, of course)if it were a vehicle gate so people could access the place in a car, but why bother?

Hordes of people now going every day to the lower portals... and that gate is probably the easiest thing to vandalize.
