Last-minute Larapinta - September 2013

Postby MountainFish » Mon 26 Aug, 2013 10:34 am

Hi folks,

I've had some free time crop up, and as I already had a short trip to Alice booked for Sept I've decided to tack on the Larapinta Trail.

Looking around this forum I can see that a few members did the walk over winter, and planned well in advance! I'm just putting this out there in case anyone else has planned (or is planning) a trip for early spring, and would be open to sharing the drop-off/pick-up service. From what I understand the temperature should still be sensible, chance of rain low, and the flowers should be out.

In the meantime, back to reading trip reports and deciding what food to take...

I'll be heading out to Redbank Gorge on Thursday (5th), with 18 days to get back to Alice Springs. Still open to sharing transport should anyone see this in time - will be checking the notice boards at the Lone Dingo and hostels around Alice too.

Looking forward to it! The long-range weather forecast is ~30C, with words like "abundant sunshine".
