Larapinta trial section 3

Postby bushlover » Wed 21 Oct, 2015 2:01 am

There an alternative high route in section 3 between Stanley's chasm and Jay creek.

What's the condition like up there?
Camping spots?
Worth the trip up?

Heard it's not so well marked up there

I thought it was worth the diversion, you could put up a tent in a couple of spots no worries and the track was easy to find in June.

Definitely worth it. The track junction at the eastern end is very clear. At the western end the turn off from the main track was not so obvious. The track along the top doesn't have any shade to speak of but is clear and easy to follow. Really good views.

I can confirm the junction have big signs now, and there's unofficial camping at the 7km mark
