Yeah it's always incredible how fast you can die from dehydration/heat exhaustion in the bush. I've never undertaken a long hike by 30+ weather, but I've had dehydration episodes in the bush.Your mouth is dry, tastes funny, and you become slightly delirious and anxious. Very easy in that situation to take a wrong turn unfortunately. Luckily for me it happened in Croajingolong where you just follow the coastline and there's no way to get lost, plus I wasn't far from my car with extra water there. He was 750 m from his car, too bad he didn't have GPS...
