The Moore River

Postby stepbystep » Wed 16 Dec, 2009 8:34 pm

Hi all,
There is an incredibly special place 100km nth of Perth.
The township is called Guilderton - named after the wreck of the Dutch ship the Guilt Dragon.
It is located at the mouth of the MOORE RIVER, this place is my spiritual home and is under a real and iminent threat.
Rather than rambling, please read the info attached to this link
http://www.savemooreriver.org
Whatever assets you may help in the fight will be rewarded through helping protect an amazing place.
This is a unique ecosystem existing within spitting distance of the largest urban sprawl outside of LA on the PLANET  .
I have watched this place fight the demons of backward farming practices and ignorant recreational pursuits to end up as the healthiest river system I have known it to be in 30 years.
If you want any info don't hesitate to PM me - this is an issue as important to me as the Franklin was to all of us, we are up against a massive political/capitalist machine.
I'm going back mid-Feb for some action.
All support much appreciated.
Dan

I've got about 2000 more shots, it's an incredibly special place.
Tread lightly, most don't.
Thanks, Dan

What's happening in mid Feb Dan? - Is there an event / action that other folks might be able to help or join in with?

Hey Liam - this was Feb 2010, we put together some flyers(4000) to hand out throughout the tourist season and I had discussions with FOMRE in regards to organising a circuit walk through the South Bank region as reported here viewtopic.php?f=40&t=3607 best bet is to visit http://www.savemooreriver.org/index.php if you want to offer your assistance or to find out how the battle is going.
Cheers, Dan
