I'm wondering if Liffey Bluff is doable from the Lake Hwy, or if the scrub is just too nasty. Has anyone tried that way?
I gather the old track straight up from the picnic area is too overgrown, and the km of steep scree from the Liffey River track wouldn't be so enjoyable when wet and slippery.

From the Lake Hwy lookout there is a track down to the river and then cairns up the scree, then across the plateau to the summit. Others have gone offtrack via a more direct line without too much trouble.

I vaguely remember someone mentioning some very thick scoparia on the southern part of Projection Bluff, and thought Liffey might be similar. I did choose to head through scoparia on purpose on one memorable walk, but usually it's not my preference!
