Hi Guys,

I recently did the South Coast Track. I've written up a bit of a review that might be of use to you.

Hi Chris

Great write up and really nice photo's. Planning the trip in January 2017.

What dates did you walk was it in March?

Did you find wearing the waterproof long pants was overkill and became too warm?

Regards

Phil

Hey Phil,

We walked in April starting on the 8th (I hear Dec and Jan are the two better months to do it). The waterproof pants were pretty much necessary for 85% of the walk, for us anyway, as there was intermittent rain and they helped with the really muddy/rainforest sections. Going in summer you might get a bit warm with them but definitely recommend a good pair nevertheless.

Cheers,
Chris

Mine were these cheap ones - http://www.wildearth.com.au/buy/rainbir ... vy/8003.NY

They did the job. My other mates spent a bit more on theres. These ones held up until the last day when I ripped them in some rainforest scrub.

That was a good read Chris and lovely photos from when you were able to pull your camera out. It provides a good account of the potential difficulty of the walk. Sometimes going down is harder than going up.
