Mersey Crag

Postby naturelover » Sun 27 Nov, 2016 8:53 am

I wanted to climb Mersey Crag, having not done so in the days prior to The Flood. Angela wanted to see the Blue Peaks area, so we decided to combine our desires and go into Mersey via this "back door" route. It was truly wonderful - a vast expanse of glorious, trackless wilderness with a million tent-pitching opportunities. We both loved this route. I love travelling with my tent on my back - it increases my sense of freedom - and also my health was dodgy and unpredictable, so we carried our tents most of the way in both directions, which meant we had an exciting wealth of possibilities when choosing a tarn for our overnight lodgings. I highly recommend this way of doing Mersey, with or without road access (i.e., if road access returns, I still recommend this route).
