Western and Eastern Arthur Traverse

In late April to early May, Kylie and I completed a 12-day traverse of the Western and Eastern Arthurs starting at Scotts Peak and finishing at Farmhouse Creek. We were treated to a wide variety of conditions including a delightful dusting of snow at Lake Oberon, burning sun around West Portal and a challenging amount of snow and ice at Federation Peak.

I've started writing up a trip report on my blog.
Part One - Scotts Peak to Square Lake
Part Two - ...to High Moor

At this rate I suspect the whole trip will take 6 parts. I will comment here as I finish each one.

Great write up. Can't wait to read the rest.

Interesting to see that it appears you came across the rescuers looking for the father and son, that was big news a few months back.

Thanks bumpingbill. Yes. It was quite old news by the time we reconnected with the outside world 8 days later. We were amazed to hear they survived! I've posted my thoughts under the helicopter rescue topic. I'd like someone to confirm my concerns but I'm fairly certain the registration both gives no indication of actual walk lengths unless you can read the terribly faded 1:100,000 composite topo on display.

Oh that's right. I remember that now. Well, good to read it again!

You've done a walk I've been wanting to do for a while, so I'm looking forward to updates. Fantastic shot of Oberon too.
