Hi all, anyone else on this forum walking the PCT this year? I finally have all my permits, visa etc... in place and can’t wait to go. Planning on the full length, Mexico to Canada, leaving Campo at the start of May. If you are headed over, drop me a line.

Good Luck Mick.
Just looking through your gear lists.
You mention that your will be carrying prescription sun glasses, from that I assume you wear glasses. Can I suggest you have spare glasses in your bounce box.
If you have any queries on the PCT or just thru hiking in the US I might be able to help.
I'll be east of you in New mexico in April, heading for Canada too.

Thanks norts, I'm on to it. I'll probably bounce some contacts and my Julbo snow sunnies ahead as well to use in the Sierra.

Hi Mick,
I'm having a crack at the PCT this year. Starting at Campo on May 15th. Just received my Canadian Entry Permit this week so now I am set with all permits and a visa. The only thing I still need to sort out is my travel insurance.
Good luck on the CDT Taz/norts......can't imagine there are too many Triple Crowners in Oz !

Good luck to you all on the PCT and CDT this year. I hiked both those trail a couple of years ago. They both rate as some of the best hiking experiences I have ever had. Have fun.

Hey Mick, are you on the trail? Just watched your Te Araroa doco, which was great by the way, and am keen to hear how the PCT is going. Cheers.

Hey dagsands, really late response sorry. Thanks for tuning into my vids on YouTube. The PCT was amazing but way smoky towards the end with wildfires right through Washington and one that actually closed the last 70 mile of trail. I was devastated by the closure from Rainy Pass north to the border so close to the end. I think I'm heading back this year to walk all of Washington again but timing it a bit earlier to avoid the fires - start in July.
