I really appreciate the replies everyone, thanks for helping out. We're heading off on Monday/Tuesday of next week. Can't wait!

I'm planning on being in the area around same time staying on the south side and exploring tracks I haven't been on in a while

Look forward to reading your reports guys, we've just moved to SW Vic and this walk is definitely on the to-do list this spring :D

Welcome to this amazing part of Victoria, it offers some spectacular bushwalking opportunities. I look forward to hearing about your adventures too!

My friend had to pull out sick, unfortunately. That wasn't too much of a problem though, because even in this age where outdoor activities are a dying interest among younger people, I have another friend to accompany me, also a keen bushwalker. We've moved it forward a day, so I'll be setting off tomorrow morning.
