Mt.BUffalo 2.10.16

We went up to The Horn yesterday morning . There was not enough snow to ski or snow shoe but the Mtn. looked beautiful with a some snow on it in October. The chalet had some snow on it and the walking trails around the Monolith were either slushy snow or snorkel and canoe kind of wet.
Some desperado types were trying to toboggan at Dingo Dell. That was looking marginal and melting before our eyes. Eurobin Falls were amazing. That is a LOT of water rushing down the mountain!!!
The views of the Main range in NSW covered on snow were worth the trip to the Gorge.
I love Mt. Buffalo no matter what the season may be.

I had avoided Mt Buffalo in the past due to it's limited overnight hiking. But a few years back I decided to take my young kids there for a camping trip staying at the camp ground and doing short walks. It's a sensational place to visit and the views from The Horn at sunset is some of the best in the state and I can't wait to get back there.

There are two hike in only camp sites at Mt McLeod and at Rocky Creek. They are on my list of walks to do as well as the BIG walk up from the bottom to the Chalet.
The Mt. Buffalo N.P. has voodoo powers for people of all ages and all year round
