A follow up report based on these pics in the gallery section.

Happened in April...but I'm still thinking about this area !
Can be completed in 4days or in sections as time allows.
A photo copy of the relevant tide times will come in handy on this section too, so your not waiting too long for the to tide fall in Station creek
Beautiful wild ribbon of coastline.......

Base yourself at the shady Station Creek campsite or walk in/ 4wd into Pebbly Beach, for a campsite a stones throw from the breaking waves.

First things first, you'll have to cross the surprisingly swift flowing Station Creek..this is where the tidal times come in handy.

I didn't see any of the rare Emu's on this walk, but you will see lots of wildlife along the way......

End of the line, the deep & powerful Wooli wooli river.
Pics are of the river mouth & the drop off point for the river crossing if being ferried across in a local tinny....

Waiting for tidal river to fall tested my patience, so I crossed early....but carefully.

Sea breezes, pounding surf, Sea Eagles, Osprey's, not a soul to be seen or heard.....wonderful area to explore.

Beautiful alright, thanks for sharing the memories.

I've just spent 4 days down there myself, up in the northern section at Red Cliff - which makes three trips there in the last 5 weeks! Must almost be time to go back  (Actually I've been dreaming of lamington lately so I think a walk along the border track is on the cards next)

If you haven't been yet, I would recommend doing the section starting from Angourie and heading south. The cliffs and track along that part are my favourite. There are a lot of nice secluded campsites along the way too

I haven't seen any emus for a while either but we had some exciting kangaroo action on Saturday.

A rival mob of roos came in and disturbed the bunch that had been hanging around our camp. Two of the big opposing males squared off and had a bit of an altercation leading to most of the two groups heading into the bush.

This guy was spraying 15 feet into the air, growling, flexing his muscles and rubbing himself on one of the timber bollards in a display of victory / aggression.

Thanks phan_Tom, the area just rings my bells in some way, must be all the salty sea air. 8)

Now, as for the 3 trips in the last 5 weeks, that's just rubbing it in......or spraying it about !
Glad you got away, it's a nice place relax & chill.

Yeah it's a great place to relax. Well, unless you cop an east coast low! and it's close enough to home for me to make it an easy weekend trip, or longer if I can squeeze another couple of days out of it

I was just lucky the last bit when the stars aligned for me & I could manage three visits in close succession. It doesn't happen often and I'm not the one to pass up an opportunity!
