South East Forests Stroll

Postby juxtaposer » Sat 20 Jun, 2015 1:16 pm

I'm more a bush potterer than a bush walker these days, but not long back I did a very nice stroll in the South East Forest National Park in a place called Tingie's Plain, of which I'm going to attempt to post a few images. There is no track, but it is a delight to meander around this beautiful upland swamp with its natural fern and shrub gardens.

These sort of swampy clears reminded me a lot of the Bindook Highlands

It was a very cold day, sleeting at times, but everywhere you look is enchanting

Apart from some pig rooting the place is pristine, I didn't find any old campsites, not so much as a lolly wrapper. Then I found this pit of sorts which appeared to have a trench dug around one side of it. If not man made it might be the remains of an extinct termite mound, possibly

Not every walk has to be goal orientated or another tick off a peak baggers checklist......great looking area, juxtaposer. 8)
Mountain views are good for my soul...& getting to them is good for my waistline !
