First time I had been cross country sking with snow camping equipment for many years. It was an experience. First night was good although cold. My JH Snobag was up to task (30 years old). Second night was very windy. Tent survived without problems (Hallmark Chrysaslis from 1985. Beautiful scenery.

Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed it and I also loved seeing that older gear being put to use.

Enjoyed the video. Its very interesting to see the challenges faced and overcome especially the footage shot inside the tent while encountering high wind and snow.

Thanks for posting.

Hard work, very hard.
Those smooth skis must have made movement slow and difficult - as in sore thighs. You need fishscales.
Betts Camp - site of some of the highest wind speeds ever clocked in Australia (>200 kph?). Not a good place to camp!
Pack weight of 22 kg - ouch! Lightweight gear today would bring that down to maybe 11 kg, with food & water.
The sole coming off the boot must have been the final straw.

Cheers
Roger

Looks like 1Wh per 5 minutes of video, if I have the mental numbers and calculation right.
There would be less weight without the video equipment.

The snow coming under the tent fly ...
You may have been able to reduce that by layering snow up against the fly .. hard to do it with the door facing the wind.
.
Thanks for taking the time to provide the information and sights.

Enjoyed your video.
Older boot sole detaching is predictable. Get both soles reglued if you opt to repair.
Keep your canister in liquid feed mode out there.
Take a snow shovel.
Keep your pack weight down - different safety issues at both extremes. Try for 18kg for 3+ nights
