Mt May eastern ridge

Overnighter. Had all the intentions of completing a circuit of Mt May's north & south peaks,
camping in the secluded saddle between the two.
But during the descent of the n/east ridge I caught glimpse of more easterly ridge through the
eucalypt canopy that looked more interesting. Specifically to photograph MT Maroon & Mt Barney at sunset & sunrise.
So retraced my steps back up to the summit again & dropped down onto the eastern ridge & found a place to
make camp before the last of the light disapeared.

Plenty o' tree's for hammocks...not a lot of level ground for tenters. Good half /day walk.
A few rocky outcrops with clean views of Barney & Maroon, great shots during dawn, dusk & moonlight.

Oooops nearly forgot.....check yourselves for ticks when you get home, there's a few around.

Really fancied pancakes & honey for breakie.....had to settle for lentils & rice.

A surprisingly calm, windless, star spangled night.
Thanks hunsta, enjoy your climb on Mt Barney.
