My first time into the Walls of Jerusalem. Which was also my first solo overnight walk.

Tough one! I think it is split between going to the Spires and the Franklands. Both were amazing.

Was and still is the Stroll to Lee's Paddocks and on past Wadleys hut (magic spot overnight camp) and on up Paddy Hartnett's track to the OLT then back to overnight at Pelion and back down to Lee's and out to the cars, a nice interesting easy circuit walk.

Just an out and back to Kelly's and Fiztgerald's huts from Watchbed Creek Bogong High Plains.
My first time up there outside the skiing season. It (the BHP) was stunning!

Short question, no easy answer. It's like asking which is your favourite child. My best walk is The Walls in Tassie and points south over the Central Plateau. Jagungal region and the Budawangs comes close.

My favorite walk would be the Overland Track. Took me 8 years to actually do it from when I first heard about it but loved every second of it. Once I completed it I was hooked on bush walking.

My first overnight hike on the Walk Into History in Warburton. It's one way, but I decided to do it as a circuit. I ended up doing about 60 kms over both days that included a massive overnight storm, a steep descent that went for a good 3km and bush bashing that seemed to go on forever. Loved every minute of it.

My first overnighter up Mount Wellington as a wee little boy scout. All up hill with a two tonne backpack, pissed down with rain the whole weekend.......

I thought the Wilmot River circuit but yesterday I did Winterbrook Falls circuit & now that is my best, was a little challenging especially the climb up to the falls but really beautiful & certainly worth it

- My 4 days (of a planned 6) on Larapinta (which I mentioned in the "worst walk" thread too)
- The Cathedral Range Southern Circuit (the only hike I've done more than a dozen times yet still can't wait to do again)
- A 3 day hike in the Colca Canyon in Peru (not even despite the fact that it has a "resort" at the bottom, but partially because of this - but haters gonna hate)

The only Thwaites Plateau I've ever heard of in Tassie is in the Eastern Arthurs.

Oh, South of Walls and turn west towards Ducane Gap. There is a creek one can follow, but we took the plain. Is it Travellers perhaps? Better drag out the maps and have a poke around. The plan was after descending into Duane Gap, go up falling mountain, but I had a mutiny and we had to take the long but easier way round.
We did a another walk entering via Derwent Bridge and along Travellers and but turned North at Ducane Gap and did the top half of the Overland. Both were magic walks but the first holds special wonder.

That walk in through the Jerusalem gates and having the place lined with flowering Scaparia from wall to wall was unforgettable, just heaven. And that was just the start and one part.

That sounds more like Mountains of Jupiter and the northern Traveller (Orion Lakes). Unless you just mean through the Never Never.

Such cool names. Yes in via Mayfield Flats and out onto Orion Lakes. What a blast from the past dragging out to the ol toppos. Look forward to showing the kids around one day.

Would have to be the Jatbula Trail near Katherine NT. Done it 8 years in a row and it is different every time I go there. Especially love Biddlecombe Cascades. The lower falls and pool are magic after a days walking.
