Victorian Walking Festival

Postby Eremophila » Sun 08 May, 2016 11:54 am

Only read of this a couple of weekends ago so missed most of the activities/events but managed to get to a guided walk at Lerderderg yesterday. Many thanks to Elwyn who was the volunteer organiser.
We hadn't walked in this park before so thought a guided walk would be a good intro to the area, which it was.
Potentially a good way for bushwalking clubs to attract new members.
Overall there have been bush, historic, cultural, art, garden walks - some guided and some self-guided. All about getting people walking and discovering some of the gems in our own backyards.
Not sure how well the entire event was promoted... Perhaps I've just had my head in the sand recently. A few of yesterday's attendees commented that they read about it in newspaper articles but there was no link or contact details.
Has anyone else seen advertising or mention of the Festival?
