OK so this is a kinda specific topic but...
In the process of encouraging my GF's interest in walking and camping she's got pretty keen on looking into Mosses and Lichens.
So I thought I'd buy her a Field Guide and thunked to myself 'Ha easy - there'll be a couple to choose from.'
Nyet. Nada. Nicht.
The best I can find through extensive lurking on the Interwebs is "A Field Guide to the Mosses and Allied Plants of Southern Australia" which is an out of print supplement to the 100(?) volume release "Flora of Australia" by CSIRO. The best price I can find for this is about $500
Or else I can buy vol. 51 of the series "Flora of Australia"; "Mosses [part one]" for $130; (volumes 2+) being also out-of-print.
Are there any Bryophytologists (amateur or otherwise) out there who can advise or even sell me a book on moss & Lichen?
(I know of "Mosses and Liverworts of Rainforest in Tasmania and South-eastern Australia" but think it is all Tasmanian based?)
Who'd have thought it would be such a 'fruitless' attempt (boom - tish)
