Spotted a Crinum in flower. Met have finished I think but this one probably gets less direct sun

It is native holly - just a case of local variation I'd suggest. Has all the key identifying features. Podolobium ilicifolium

It's a Caladenia orchid but I don't know the species. 3cm is quite small although quite limited moisture in the Murray Sunset might explain that. I would guess the species as capillata or parva - if not then maybe verrucosa or dilatata.

Also, craigvic, your double post above is a very healthy Clematis - not a mistletoe but a climber/vine.

Thanks for the info. That little orchid is growing right in the track, I feel its future looks grim.

Lots of fascinating plants up at Murray Sunset, many in flower atm.

Just one more,

Craspedia. Given the location, I think it's C. variabilis.

Quite a lot of vegetation for a 'desert', isn't there :)

It was great, I don't often see the dominate vegetation, and all its companions, changing so completely and so often on a walk.

Sydney, Hornsby region. Pouring with rain, but baby ducks running around, red spider Grevilia flowers coming out, and a few sun orchids in flower.

Cheers

Caladenia carnea at Bungonia. It was so dry at Bungonia today that I was amazed to spot a few of these orchids near the campground.

From Chiltern - Mount Pilot NP, central north Victoria. It appears to be a poor season so far for floral displays compared to what I've observed on a couple of earlier trips. However, this is a plant I have not previously seen. What is it?

Can someone identify this plant for me. I saw it today in the Kur-ring-gai NP. Maybe only the second time I've noticed it and now curious to what it is. Sorry about the photo being out of focus.

Not sure about the species, but what you are looking at are probably not the flowers. They look to me like the bracts: the bits left behind after the flowers have all fallen off. That makes identification difficult.

Cheers
