Interesting data on hut usage in the 1970's

Postby jvdv » Sun 05 Feb, 2017 12:15 pm

Found this article in an old 1979 copy of Mountaineering Magazine (the magazine for the Melb University Mountaineering Club) about the increasing number of visitors to various huts in the Victorian Alps and the Kosciusko NP during the 1960's and 70's - things were clearly getting out of hand! Wonder how things at these days?

Wow a whole 5 people per day on average. Most people would be there tho on the week-ends so 40 people in and around those huts sounds about right
