We can dream... Next significant walking idea

Postby GPSGuided » Tue 13 Jun, 2017 8:49 am

Can't resist... Walking on Mars! Or would that be hopping?

Having been held back for months by various work and personal issues, I'm now keen for a good walk out there in the coming days or weeks. Maybe that Mars idea was a dream but want to urgently hit a track.
Just move it!

A kiwi perspective: finish East Cape to West Cape - The Length of NZ's Main Divide.

Section hiked in two sections so far from East Cape to Wellington and Picton to Raspberry Flat in Aspiring NP near Wanaka. But been stalled there for a few years now.

Next section is a short busy unappealing bit of track walking from Aspiring to the Milford Rd via Dart and Routeburn - the reason I've been finding better things to do when I have free time. But then the fun starts again down the west of lk Te Anau to the Doubtful Sound Rd. Final stage out to West Cape.

Just need free time, a good stable forecast, and fitness. Concurrently! Before I get too old.

My boss's words on hearing I needed a day off to go & be granted my citizenship: 'You'll never be a kiwi with that accent, Pom'.
