Three Peaks Challenge ( Last minute advice )

Postby Luc-Porter » Mon 25 Sep, 2017 8:48 pm

Hi All.
I'm making my first attempt this weekend on the Three Peaks Challenge.
Looking for any last minute advice those of you that have done it could give me.
Planned route is 8pm, leave Katoomba station.
Hit climbers car park, start clock.
follow K2K route to Cloudmaker.
Paralyser, Guouogang, Yellow Dog.
Back to Climbers car park, stop clock.
Sub 48hrs. Back to Katoomba station.
Not looking to break records.
Just looking for any last minute hint or tip.
( will be travelling light, Total pack weight <6kg including water ) no tent.
Thanks in advance Luc.
Should anyone have an insane need to join, PM me. At the moment we are a party of three, this could change.
That is a very basic planned route, more detail has been planned.

Thanks David. As far as I know, it goes against the spirit of things to stash supplies.
No support either. Everything you use must be carried in and out. Lollies are a must. I have allocated 500gms for snakes.

I dont think its cheating when you walk narrow neck in and out, you have to carry it in and if its hot the neck without water is horrible. Also stashing by burying beer at the end of the bitumen on the neck is a treat to come back to.

Load some motivational music to listen to while your walking...

suggestions

- S&M by Rhianna
- Do you really want to hurt me by culture club
- hurt so good by john mellancamp

but seriously.. Good luck, pace yourself and know you will feel awesome that you did it. (after a day or so of recovery)

If you wont dump water on the way out boiled lollies keep your mouth moist. There is water on the neck but when you dont know the place and you are rooted you will be thirsty
