Also opened a discussion over at BPL.
In a group at what point do people think it is worthwhile taking along a large shelter for cooking?
4 people? 6?
I am thinking of the times that people crammed into my Megamid during snow trips to talk and brew up and whether an extra 2-3 kilos is worth planning for.
Winter and snow so a LW tarp won't work although I like the use of a tarp in other seasons.
Over at BPL it was suggested that going for a bigger 4 person geodome would be a better solution but we have already bought good 2 and 3 person tents for the trip.
Thoughts?
Wild conjecture welcomed also; remembering this is a bunch of old fellers [ and perhaps a fellerette] having one last big adventure and we are not as fit or as strong as we used to be and we are all pushing the limits of the budget as it is

Not for 4, but perhaps for 6+ the 3F UL A Tower with skirt. There's various sellers on Aliexpress. ~4kg + poles
