Does anyone know what's happening with Memory Maps?

http://memory-map.com.au/

One of my friends reports that they've lost their maps, but mine is currently fine on the iPhone.

Any other experiences? Ta.

Looks like memory map has run into licencing issues.

If it were me I'd stay away from any 'update' to Memory Maps. And I'd be looking at a replacement.. Good Luck.

Yep. I hadn’t downloaded as many maps on my new device and I now can’t access. I’m pretty devastated. Loved that app.

Oooo, thanks - lots of good information in there and yes... I won't be updating MM!!

I've been experimenting with Gaia Maps and Pocket Earth, with good results.

Well that was news to me. Thanks for the update. Shame as I thought it was a good product.

Got this email this morning.

Dear Customer,
You may have heard a rumor or read on the web that Memory-Map has "suspended services". Please rest assured this is not true.
The situation is, we have discontinued working with a certain re-seller, who is now putting out a false message on the Australian website. There are a few maps that we have discontinued selling, and some others that are no longer available for download. However, the Memory-Map online activation services and most maps of Australia are not affected by the change.
We have recently released new edition maps for NSW, QLD and TAS, as well as a new edition of the Hema 4WD Maps. We are working on replacements for other maps that may be affected. If you are having problems accessing your purchased maps or software, please contact us via our global support site https://memory-map.com/Support.html. You may be eligible for a free update.
The bottom line is Memory-map is fully committed to the Australia/NZ market and we are looking after our customers in the region.

Yep, I got the same letter. I'm guessing all people who had bought/licensed maps did too. Phew!

What's so superior about MM? Tried it on my iPhone X and it has a lot of hiccups when scrolling through the map, rather unpleasant.
Just move it!

Works fine on my Android. I guess everyone has their preferred apps.

Many thanks, I’ve made contact.

On why are they so good, I found them much more seamless to use than other mapping applications I’ve tried.

MM have always responded very positively to any query I have. When my Tassie maps stopped working as per the above situations I contacted them, they explained they no longer have the licence for the old TOPO4GPS 1:25000 and 1:100000 maps , then hooked me up with the new 1:50000 and 1:100000 maps at no charge. I have used them on phones, a dedicated device, laptops and tablets, always work for me
