Yeti Gaiter rand query

Postby Moondog55 » Fri 08 Dec, 2017 3:09 pm

I've managed to find a pair of Berghaus Yeti gaiters in the British army Ski-March configuration reasonably cheaply [ S/H Surplus naturally] but only in XL which I know is just too tight to fit my ski boots.
I don't want to ruin the rands I have for sale here experimenting.
Does anybody know if the rubber used in the Berghaus rand can be softened and stretched using any sort of solvent?
I know that ordinary elastic rubber softens and stretches permanently if contaminated with mineral turpentine but what about vulcanised carbon modified rubbers?
Ve are too soon old und too late schmart
