I intend to use this for my winter sleeping quarters
The shape of the tent approximates a 90 degree angle at the ridge but not quite
How critical is it to match the actual included angle?
The SupaPeg angle unit is 90 but the tents included angle is closer to 86 degrees, will that really matter?

My thought is it doesn't take much to make a tent really slack.
The length of the sides of the angle will need to be correct to get a tight roof too.

The only thing that determines the angles is the ability to close the doors. You could adjust the doors by adding a small V insert or take in a pleat to get to the 90 degrees that the framing system uses.
If you are making a frame to go inside the tent, and not using a separate fly then any rubbing is likely to allow water penetration. I would think that an external frame is most suitable and will provide more flexibility regards the angles.

One of the reasons for thinking I need an internal frame is wanting to mount the short tent on a low solid frame wall
The Karkampa walls at 760mm are a little too low for the cot I will be using
Wanting to keep the weight and bulk down is why I don't want to use a full timber frame,
Wanting to keep the tent in original condition is why I haven't added a short synthetic skirt to the bottom; even if that is the easiest option.
Naturally I will be using it with a full coverage fly, If I go with a full external frame none of this matters and I have that option

I'll head out to Bunnings after the food shopping and get some 25mm HP plumbing angles and have a play also with an external frame

Here's a technical question
How far apart do you think I can space ordinary 25*2mm aluminium tubing?
25mm tube fits 25mm PVC pressure pipe joiners
Also for inside frame I found that 15mm PP fittings mate with 12mm FG wand sections
