Inserting mesh panel into tent inner

Postby Cline » Fri 26 Jan, 2018 5:31 pm

Hoping you can give some advice to a DIY newbie...
I would like to replace 2 existing nylon panels of my tent inner with a no see um mesh panels to improve ventilation. Would it be as simple as unpicking the seams of the nylon panels and replace the entire panels with mesh? Do I need to sew the seams with top stitched french seams or can I roll it over twice and sew two rows of stitching? Any advice would be great!
Cheers.

I would do something just a little simpler. I would measure and cut the mesh to fit the panels, top stitch the mesh to the panels around the edges and then carefully cut away the fabric on the inside of the stitch lines before flame sealing the edges
Ve are too soon old und too late schmart
