Carbon Fibre Poles modification for Pack and Chair

Postby Orbita_Serenitatem » Tue 28 Apr, 2020 7:59 pm

Hi All -

I have modified my old KS50 to have two carbon fibre poles on the sides for structure and to focus more weight into the hip belt.

The 600mm poles also fit the Mountainsmith Slingback chair that is a luxury item in camp.

Fun project with great help from my seamstress!

I have also modified the pack top entry to mimic that of the MLD Burn 38.

Next is to increase the volume of the side pockets and add a drawcord to the top hem to better hold stuff in the pockets.

Photos below + a shout out to Petew for the DCF/XPac sacks - great work.

Also the Nemo Switchback pad was a new purchase last week. Pretty comfy but look at how much space it needs!

Thanks mate! I guess if you can sit your pack on its bum and it doesn't fall over it must be balanced too... I am addicted to making a packed pack look neat!
