Once an item is sold, found or thread is no longer needed we move it here. These maybe helpful for historic reasons.

[SOLD] [TAS Launceston] Thermarest ProLite 4 w/stuff sack

Postby headwerkn » Tue 10 Dec, 2013 5:49 pm

*** SOLD ***

US-made Thermarest Prolite 4 hiking/camping sleeping mat in Regular size. 51x183cm, 2.5cm thick, R2.2 insulation value, weighs 460gr.

About 3 years old, used maybe a dozen times at most. Excellent condition - no marks, damage or noticeable wear. Definitely no leaks - always stored flat and partially inflated to keep it tip-top.

Comes with genuine Thermarest long-thin stuff sack - works well strapped to side of pack. Mat can be folded in half and rolled/packed in a short-fat configuration too.

Perfectly excellent sleeping mat, however as a side sleeper with broad shoulders I just find an air mat that bit more comfortable. Hence it must be sold to buy other kit ;-)

$75 negotiable.

Hi,

Flatmate is very interested, but confused about details.
The Profile 4 used to be 3.8 cm, 640 g apx? 4 season. They then changed to Prolite Plus, no?
Which is yours exactly?

Perhaps Strider or similar knows the history?

Ha! I am a gear freak but I'm afraid I'm not old enough to know the history of Prolites!

We use Prolite 4 mats and find them good for all seasons even on snow ,trick I have found is to fully inflate then release some air when you lie on it :)
At that price it is a steal

I will take it if it's still available. I need some gear for my brother.

Apologies for the delay in responding - have been away hiking up Western Lakes this weekend... no internet there ;-)

The pad is definitely a ProLite 4 and definitely 51x183cm. Not sure what the difference is between it and the Plus model.

And yes, it is most comfortable with a little less air than full. Depends on the ground underneath, of course!

I'll be in Launceston tomorrow all day if anyone's still keen - please PM for my contact details.

Cheers, Ben.
