Bought one these light weight Alcohol stoves. quite amazing the are like a miniature blast furnace. Packed in a neat plastic jar. The draw back is that they are tailored to specific pots. so when buying you must nominate what pot you will be using.

I think the plastic caddy weighs more than the cone ! But it is secure.
The titanium model does need to be kept in something though, because the material it's made from is so thin,
it's quite sharp, so can wear through whatever it's rubbing against in you pack.
I swapped the caddy out for a 600ml water bottle with the top cut off. Fuel bottle, igniter & spoon fit inside with a
evernew burner(which i prefer) snugly capping the top.
If your a metho lover..it's a nice unit.

I've got the titanium version and use it with a Fire Maple gas stove. Great bit of kit but storage in a pack is always a bit tricky. The pastil caddy is ok but it does make it quite bulky.

I've got two of these, an 1100 and 900ml version and I agree, they're great stoves, so simple and quiet. My only real gripe would be the lack of flame control as on full they really crank out the heat. I've tried a couple of different DIY fixes but with limited success.

Can you get a simmer with your evernew stove? (Which interestingly looks like a titanium knockoff of the trangia brass stove)

I have tried modifying a couple of trangia simmer rings & making my own without much luck.
It's basically a flame thrower used to bring water to the boil as quickly as possible.
But you can make your fuel last longer by placing your pot directly on top of the burner,
closing off the top ring of jets & leaving just the side jets to burn.

turning it into a side burner but I guess that trick doesn't work if you are using it with the caldera cone setup where the bottom of the pot is at a fixed height above the stove.

I see trail designs has a couple of options for simmer rings now so I may have to get one and see how it goes
