There's lots to like about the x-mid but there's no doubt that the price compared to the stratospire etc is part of the success. It will be quite a trick to do the same compared to other dcf tents if the design stays the same.

As it will be sold directly from Drop, I imagine we will just pay equivalent AUD to the USD value listed.

palace. I do see the appeal for the market. However for my own use, the 2p was too big of a footprint to fit in stealth ninja sites. I onsold it as couldn't see me reaching for it over the 1p.

A dcf 1p double wall or single wall (the 1p is huge inside) at a semi reasonable price and impressive weight would definitely be my choice.

Yeah, I guess it depends on how big you are and how much space you like. I like the Duplex for the very reason it has a bit more space than a 1 person tent. Looking forward to seeing weight and cost.

The fixation on selling a kidney to finance a tent purchase is a little narrow, I think.

Historically, first born children have had a high trade value, with, amongst other possible upsides, the benefit that one's own physical abilities are unimpaired by the trade.

Indeed, I'm sure that many experienced parents would agree that divestment of the first born may well increase the physical wellbeing of the parent

I think Dan chiming in and answering questions on it sealed the deal for me as far as the footprint size goes as it will be a wee bit smaller than the double wall 2p which I found too big.

Will be keen to see what the final specs are and whether it will be an 'as well as' or 'instead of' proposition against my Protrail Li. Either way it is a long way off and the PT Li will see use as I excitedly await the 2022 shipping of the XMid Pro.

1.5 version and I'm in!

I feel the same, Tortoise. For me, the 2p Xmid was ridiculously big. I had owned a Lanshan 2p for awhile and never felt it had a crazy ig footprint for solo use, the Xmid though was giant- a good thing I guess if you actually want it as a dedicated 2p.

Dan says the pro won't be as big as the 2p, so it may be close to that sweet spot of the 1.5 ish size. Hope so!
I will buy it anyway, but if too big, am sure I will be able to move it along at a small loss only.
