Tides on Abel Tasman NP in NZ

Postby davidmorr » Tue 16 Apr, 2013 11:21 pm

A friend is planning to do this walk next March. He would like to book flights now while there are really cheap deals available.

However, this track depends on having low tide at the time you get to certain places, so you need to pick your dates based on the tides.

Does anyone know when the tide tables for the park for March will be published?

Thanks

Duh! My friend said they were not available yet, but I found them for 2014 on the DOC web site. Teach me to check myself before posting!

Thanks anyway, Strider.

its not a major if you're doing the coastal walk, on any given day you can get across the tidal areas. threes tracks to bypass the torrent bay to anchorage crossing, its only awaroa you have to wait out and you get quiet a few hours where you can cross...
from the land of the long white clouds...
