Ive been watching this all week. Mt (s)Hutt has been amazing. They've struggled to report how much theyve had due to an inability to get at it at times. They had an avalanche through their snowmaking shed and Ive read rumours of up to 18ft drifts. Crazy.

There you go. Theyve had over 2.8m from this storm (3.4m base total). They are flying staff in today to start avi control. Insane. Conditions in the BC would be crazy for avalanche risk. Mind you I dont think that would stop some..

Tell me about it. Mind you Im due to have bubs any week so this will be my first season in 18 years of not getting down so the lack of snow isnt concerning me...then again I might have to shuffle down at the end of the season...so my 4yo can have a ski of course ;-)

I think Aus is the only place without snow. I have just had to reroute my trip in the Pyrenees due to most passes being still too heavily snowed up for safe travel without ice axe & crampons.

Thank you for the generous offer! But I prefer heavenly powers to shift those goods around, not by fossil fuel burning human designed transport mechanisms.

mt hutt and porters skifield just scored home goals. they were bombing to set off avalanche prone slopes and the avalances caused a fair bit of damage to their chair lifts....
