An alternative exit is up Devils Hole, then on to Katoomba Station via Valley Road. This is my preferred exit. It may help to have a GPS route for the Devils Hole Track, as some parties get confused on the jungle area below the pass.

Here's a page where you can download someone's GPX file:
http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=onrhhcwsivbhffhn

The northern half of that route is the 6 Foot Track, but forking off before reaching Explorers Tree, and going instead through suburban Katoomba to the station. The southern half of that route is the Devils Hole Track, though the uploader went along Stuarts Road rather than along Valley Road as I usually do.

If your aim is to get to the railway station, I think going via Explorers Tree might be the fastest way, because it's fairly level from there to the railway station whereas the other routes cross a valley. Especially if you are finishing after dark, the 6 Foot Track to Explorers Tree is easier to do at night than the Devils Hole (although I have done the Devils Hole Track at night by the light of my phone's torch - progress was very slow but it was a great experience).

Hi,
Thanks for the info, yest I was thinking to go to station via Devis hole as a last bit of long walk some time make me tired and want to get it done.
Now I will follow the explorer tree to get Katoomba station.

Wish me good luck for good weather :)

Hi,
How you plan to break the days to walk and where you plan to camp.

Was rather busy over the weekend, how did others find the track?

We got stuck with some parents and their toddlers playing on the swing bridge for about 30 minutes which was frustrating (probably more so because we were tired) as we just wanted to get to the campsite to set up and they took ages to get across. Ended up walking through the river further down.
