I too am looking..
These appear to be cheaper and a scheduled service;
https://overlandtracktransport.com.au/c ... e-mountain
They also hire gear, store luggage and sell gas cannisters on board.
Might be able to do a Lake St Clair to Frenchmans and then Frenchmans back to Lanceston?
I like the scheduled service as that allows you to finish later or sooner without any reorganisation.

Have used Paul from Outdoor Tasmania for OLT transfers.

Very easy to deal with. The trip out from Launceston was a bit slow because we stopped somewhere for about 40 mins, but the return trip was good.

He’ll even allow you to book, and then will try to get more people on your bus to get the price down. We booked a whole bus for two people in July 16 for both ends - Launceston to Cradle, then Lake St Clair to Launceston.

By the time we travelled, he had 11 outbound and then about six inbound.

A reliable operator I’d definitely recommend.

What sort of prices were charged for the 11 outbound journey ?
And then the 6 inbound?

We used Outdoor Tasmania last year and they were great.

Launceston to Cradle and then Lake St Clair to Launceston.

Great communication via phone and email and they supply gas and will stop on the way somewhere to get what you need.

Next time I go to Tassle I will definitely be using them again.

Cheers.

Email him. He’ll send back the price details.

I did email and send the enquiry after he replied but have not had a response as of yet, how long did it generally take for a reply from the enquiry form ?

Great to hear that they try and reduce the costs to all that are travelling that is exactly what I am looking for as it is only two of us both ways.

I can also recommend Outdoor Tasmania/Paul Griggs. It was a number of years ago but we did an 8 day trip through WOJ area. Paul dropped us there and another driver picked us up from the Mersey Forest Rd at exactly the pre-arranged time/day/location. He made it cheaper in that we agreed to share with some OLT walkers and drop them off first then go to WOJ. All went smoothly, also supplied required gas from memory.

Hey everyone,

After the great feedback and information I will be booking with the company, if anyone knows anyone travelling on those dates let them know. I will be booking for 2 people so we can reduce costs if more jump on the bus :-)

Hey mate, I can’t see the dates in any of your posts in this thread.

I started a separate thread advertising transport share when I used Paul...

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=23634

While I didn’t get any replies, I know at least a few of the extra people on the bus had contacted Paul after seeing my post on bushwalk.com

I found it hard to navigate the site - probably my mindset rather than any fault on the website itself.

I will be using TassieLink in December - I booked through them relatively easily.
