Overland track transport 23/02 - 28/02

Postby Siandlisa » Mon 20 Feb, 2017 10:38 am

Hi,

My wife and I are booked on to the Overland starting on Thursday 23rd Feb. We are currently in Launceston and have a hire car.

We're hoping to maybe lift share or hitch hike to save the very expensive transport costs and are flexible with plans. Please message if you can help!

Our vague plan was to leave our car at cradle mountain and then try to hitch hike from Lake St Clair to Launceston. Then either bus/hitch to cradle mountain the next day to retrieve the car.

We've looked at tassielink and mcdermott. So expensive!

All suggestions and lift share offers welcome!

Thanks,
Si and Lisa

Hi guys,
we're in sort of the Same Situation. We start walking on Friday but are in Hobart. The plan was to leave the car in lake st Clair and hitchhike or share a ride to cradle mt. Rates for transport are just ridiculous.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the reply. We're about to start walking (in cradle mountain car park now!) so unfortunately can't help you out. Maybe see you on the trail and good luck with the logistics!
At the moment we're going to try to hitch from Lake St Clair back to cradle mountain on maybe Tuesday 28th.
