Find walking companions or arrange transport guidelines

1 Bushwalk Australia is not a bushwalking club
This website is not a bushwalking club. It is a place for people to exchange ideas, buy and sell items, and to meet and go on bushwalks.

2 Responsibility
Users take responsibility for assessing the trustworthiness, character or behaviour of anyone they meet on this website, and the suitability of trips so arranged. Administrators, moderators and members, cannot take responsibility. Some people may deliberately use the internet, including these forums, to give a false impression of themselves in order to gain your trust. Individuals take full responsibility for themselves and should plan to walk independently, even if walking with other people. Cooperation between individuals is entirely the responsibility of those concerned, and should be clearly communicated between themselves. No element of cooperation should be assumed. This has nothing to do with this website's administration and moderation team.

3 Be self-sufficient
It's important to be totally self-sufficient – your own tent, stove, gear, etc. The reason is that if a party does not get on or literally wants to go different ways, you can survive. Relying on a person you have just met is ill-advised.

4 Under 18 years-of-age
Walkers under the age of 18 who are not accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, and anyone else walking with such people, would do well to discuss legal responsibilities with the under 18's parents or legal guardians, so that all parties understand what expectations and responsibilities are in place. It is up to individuals to make their own arrangements, and no responsibilities should be assumed without explicit agreement.

5 Lock threads
When your thread is no longer needed, please lock the thread using the popup menu and button at the bottom right of the topic page. Threads which appear to have expired may be locked by admins or mods without notice.
