Not long back from walking the Larapinta Trail. Picture of my new favourite campsite - atop Brinkleys Bluff.

nice pics Dan. The inland clarity in the sky and lack of haze in the sky makes for awesome landscapes. Does October seem like the best weather for Larapinta?

thanks for feedback, I appreciate it.

eggs - didnt sleep that well, worried the tent was going to fly away, wasnt all night though & had some big rocks holding it down. :D

forest & deadwood - walk was done in August, only had 3 days over 30 degrees, but that was enough. Couple of nights down to nearly zero, so was good to see both perspectives. As for walking it in October, stuff that & thats coming from a Queenslander! All that rock seems to reflect & amplify the heat. They've touched 40 degrees more than once in last 2-3 weeks.

Can't wait to get back up there, hopefully next year. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience with some exceptional pics as well. Cheers, Ian

I think it's always windy overnight on Brinkley. It was calm enough when I got up there, but by sunset it was getting awkward. Packing up in the morning was Hell.
