Attached images can be any resolution so long as the file size is no more than 1 MB (attachments will be displayed by the forums as thumbnails no larger than 800 pixels linked to the full-size image).

Please include a description of the pictures' content so that readers know what they're all about.

What Snake is this, Watagans, NSW

Hey , does anybody know what sort of snake this is? Photo taken at the Basin Campsite, Olney State Forest, Watagans, NSW.

It is a Bandy Bandy (Vermicella annulata). Subteranean species only coming out at night or after heavy rain or if rock or log turned over. Not known to bite. Usually about 0.5m but may grow to max 1m.

1st thoughts were a Bandy Bandy.....but I'm not so sure, head shape & markings look different.

Stephens banded snake Hoplocephalus stephensii, they put on a nice little show. Don't pick them up.

defintely a young stephens banded, nice find they not common there
