Yep, they are fine, and have cracking weather for their first 3 days. See pic.
They did tell me how badly you want to do this trip. I do empathise. It was pretty hard to watch them head off when I had to turn back.
Nevermind, happy they are going to get a few great days, mind you I think they will cop a bit of an equalizer in the following day or 2
Cheers, Dan

I've been planning to go there for YEARS!!! :D Ah well, they'll have some good advice for me once they're finished. Stu and co. won't leave a peak un-conquered.

Oll, Azz, you guys were invited, not our fault you couldnt come :)
Its agreed it was the best trip most of us have had, and the range is to be named the SUNSHINE RANGE! 8 days of stunning weather and every single peak on the range bagged!! Including a day trip over Frankland peak, Secheron, Lloyd Jones and out to Terminal! Then the following day we went over Giblin, Jim Brown and all the way along the lake back to the car!! 11 hrs at pace! And Dave was in code Brown for a moment or 2......

Pics will be coming in a few days time, I have over 300 to go through! Absolutely stunning country and a magnificent range!! Up there with the Arthurs for difficulty, mostly due to heat and water finding. But in misty weather it would be very difficult navigating in many places! A Pad is present some of the time but not always easy to locate!! And a few of the peaks are quite steep......
Nothing to see here.

 grrrrr... Actually I could have come. The original dates conflicted with an overseas trip, by the time I heard about the new plans it was too late to rearrange work. So jelous..
Hence I'm a bit dirty - been trying to arrange a trip for the last few years. Don' tell Olle the peaks are steep... he's already worried enough about the steeper bits towards the end of the range.

I think dave will tell him he was in code brown....
The pics will reveal all anyway!! BUT you can come down off Mt Giblin and not go near Secheron. We did it in an amazingly hardcore day trip from Right angle peak.
The Citadel was pretty gnarly too I dont know if he'd get up that..... BUT every other peak was fine...... I just wouldnt suggest descending to Pedder on the right hand side of Jim Brown.......

Would have been great if you guys could have come, it really was an amazing trip!!

We certainly made our own route down from Jim Brown that had one exciting bit. Other entertaining times were had on The Citadel; Frankland to Secheron; and getting off Secheron towards Llyod Jones. Like ILUVSWTAS I have a couple of hundred photos to sort. Amazing weather (just one misty damp morning in eight days) - allowed us to camp in a couple of places that might not normally be considered: eg on the moor just below Double Peak - some of the best views I've ever had just looking out of the tent.

....and thanks to stepbystep for the eliminating the car shuffle.

Hahaha we love you too Oll......

Pity you couldnt make it, but you must look forward to it greatly! It's much like the Arthurs only more challenging!!

A couple of the spots MJD spoke of were simply amazing campsites! It's entirely possible they havent been used before as the exposure was extreme! Any winds or rain and we would have been blown into Pedder!

Even just doing Sprent as a daywalk is definitely worthwhile, as the photos above so ably demonstrate! Amazing views when you get the weather.
