TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Thats crazy! At 80mph I'd be worried about the whole lot including the occupant doing a Dorothy.

Best bit was the commentary inside the tent talking about his mate's tent. "fooked" :)

Pity he didn't fire up his stove to do a wind test before he left...

Ahhh Vango. Say no more. Likely it fell apart before the storm even hit.

A bit like that

We then started working on the Vango Hurrricane, when he pulled all these poles out of his bag I thought to myself no way on earth this is going up, frantically holding onto the canvass, a few bent poles later we gave up never even raising it off the floor we decided to head to lower ground to pitch leaving my Akto up on the summit with my Osprey Argon inside we headed down. On discovering a snapped pole Paul discussed sleeping in the car

Good choice. After a very very wet night in a small but stable Terra Nova, it has become my go to guy in bad weather...... And seriously ANYTHING is better than a vango!

Good one Dave,

Welcome to Bushwalk Australia, thanks for the entertaining video and your great site.

You should do some wild camping down under sometime, SW Tasmania has the best weather for tent testing.

Hi Atky,

A nice video of some nice walking country.

Not many walkers here do videos of their trips.

I will look forward to your next video.

Hey Chris, thats awesome thanks for sharing!! I have a Laser PHOTON, even lighter and thinner than the Competition, nice to see them standing up to those kinds of winds!!

May I ask, was that using the pegs (teethpicks) that come with the tent?? I must confess I ditched them almost straight away

Hi mate, I actually forgot my 'delta pegs' which I normally bring with me
So went to the nearest shop to pick up a pack of 4 hard plastic pegs for the ends of the tent
And used the "toothpicks" for the rest of the guy points, I was very surprised myself that they held out during the night
I did put some rocks over the tooth picks as well to anchor them down a bit 

Thats somewhat of a relief. I love the tents, but those pegs are a bit of a joke....

Thanks for the reply, and the video!!! Great stuff.
