Aspiring national park from the air

shows the area of Cascade saddle from the north, then moves to the area around mt aspiring, then on to the side valleys of the Makarora including the Young River and the lake that was formed by a big slip a few years ago..

The one hour chopper rides out of Makarora are fantastic.
You land in a couple of spots up high and fly around Aspiring itself.
I did it on a beautiful day.
It doesn't get much better than that.
