A week or so ago that beach may have had smoke and people escaping by boat. Still in NSW, popular place.

Zapruda, indeed it is. A week or two ago there was a pic in this thread looking down at the crossing, and there's a fairly common pic looking northish along the river to Jagungal. This is a good place to cross boots dry in most years when coming from Cup and Saucer et al.

Its a beautiful area for walking and skiing.

I think that valley is the national headquarters for the highland copperhead. Without fail, every time I have been through there I have seen one or three... Winter excluded of course.

NSW.

A bit of guesswork as I haven't been north of Gungartan and not a winter visitor - Kerries Ridge?

You are pretty close, John. This taken from a rarely visited ridge. What am I looking at?

Nope, not Brassy.

A clue - You can get to the top of this ridge from Munyang power station. From it I am looking at what Mountain?

If I'm correct I've walked up that unnamed ridge. It has a trig on it and takes you to Consett Stephen Pass near the southern end of the Rolling Ground. So you would be looking at Mt Tate/Tate East Ridge.

That’s not it unfortunately. The snow does make it look a little different, especially from this angle.

It’s Disappointment Ridge. What’s the mountain?

OK I'm now trying to remember what I could see (minus snow) from either Gungartan or Disappointment Ridge on the overgrown trail that passes the hut. I'm guessing it's got to be either The Granite Peaks or Dicky Cooper Bogong (maybe both?).

Neither of those sorry John. I’m standing on the northern end of disappointment ridge, off track and looking northish

Carruthers? This one is bothering me! The Gungartan pic was bad enough - this is worse. Maybe my brains fried over the hot weekend.

Zapruda has it. It's taken from the trig at the Granite Peaks looking NNE (I think) - I suspect Gungarten is in the photo, but I'm not sure.

Good one Tyreless. I love the Rolling grounds.

NSW - A little easier, name both peaks.
