I've already submitted for November. Maybe this will be 2 months worth of voting. :)

I have put in an unofficial request for someone to goose Matt into hitting whichever button is necessary to set the thing off. Obviously I don't enough enough brownie points stored up for that to work. Yet.

Howdy guys

Opps sorry my bad. Thanks for letting me know.
We had a small technical issue with it (one photo triggered a bug), fixed it -- then forgot to launch it -- Silly me.
Had a bunch of stuff on this week and have hardly been online

All live now. -- Some very stunning images in there :)

Thanks again

Matt :)

Quick thought on the Photo Comps for 2018. Is it time to increase the size that the images in the photo comp are displayed at for voting?

Don't know about other people, but 800px images don't even take up a third of my screen (27"). Perhaps a bump to 1000px, since most monitors are probably in the 1300-2000px wide range at the moment?

^ That seems like a very sensible suggestion, although I don't have to pay the server bills so have no idea how much of an impact that might have.

Talking of image size - a few very fine panoramas have been submitted over time but they are at a great disadvantage due to the extra compression they get.
Maybe all landscape and panorama mode photos should display at the same height, but variable width

Given my understanding is that the server stores the full resolution images for potential printing in calendar/magazine, probably no impact. Though it probably also stores a version for display @ 800px, which might have to increase to say 1000px. But that's probably < 100kb per image, vs 1-5mb per image for the originals, so chicken feed :)

I have a panorama that I'm tempted to enter this month - not sure if it's worth it!

My super-stretched shot from Schnells won, so go for it. We want to see that photo!
