Er, the land in the distance may constitute a hint as to my QLD location.

Thanks for playing jonnosan. This one is a long way south of the tropics.

Getting close but need to go a little further south. I'm on the mainland, but it is looking towards the hinterland, where this waterway has its source. This isn't the most obvious place for a bushwalk but it's surprising the short local walks you can unearth. I'm in a conservation reserve.

Tallebudgera Creek, taken from somewhere in Tallebudgera Creek Regional Park (the track just above the waterline that doesn't have a name in QTopo)?

Well done Lachlan, and you get the bonus points :). Yes I'm on that track, heading towards the David Fleay wildlife park, probably near where the map shows that small sand island. QTOPO might need updating (like a lot of topo maps), the reserve is currently called Tallebudgera Creek Conservation Park.

Well, I only got it thanks to the hints and a lucky guess. :D
I haven't done much bushwalking in Queensland at all.

Hence, I'm going to pull things back across the Tweed River, and even further south to the ACT.

What is the unofficial name of the spot I'm standing in? Anything similar is fine, but it needs to be more than just the name of the stream in the valley below.

Nope, not Gudgenby.

Wouldn't mind getting up to Gudgenby one time though; the views look spectacular.

No, unfortunately not Booroomba Rocks. I'm further south than Booroomba Rocks.

This could potentially be an obscure one, as I'm not sure how often parties go here. Having said that, the location obviously does get some occasional visitation, because we found some garbage stashed in the bush nearby.

Further north this time (:

The river wandering across the middle ground of the photo from right to left is the Gudgenby River. Boboyan Road is also down there hidden amongst the trees

Still further north. The creek in the bottom of the photo drains one of the ACT's major fens.

Very close, but not quite. But, close enough, as it's time to put this one to rest. I'm on the area of granite slabs south-west of Nursery Hill. Your turn WFBW :D

The wit!

The tree fern in question (and the waterfall it accompanies) is on a very popular short walking track.
